21 Days of Prayer • January 7, 2021 • Rick Gannon

Welcome to 21 days of Prayer! Have you ever known someone who said one thing and lived another? Well, in the Old Testament, the major prophet Isaiah knew people who lived a double life -- the Nation of Israel. He spoke on behalf of a holy God about their compromise. He boldly challenged Israel to clean up their act and love God with all their hearts and minds. Isaiah hoped that Israel would clearly see their hypocrisy and reorientate their lives around themes like justice, righteousness, and repentance so they could live the life of abundance that God had in store for them. For the next 21 days, you are welcome to join us in a daily devotional designed to walk us through Isaiah chapter 1. At first glance, it can look very bleak for Israel and make God seem to be temperamental and quick to judge. As we slowly consider these prophecies of old, I know we will see God differently and find ourselves in 2021 in need of Isaiah’s critical call to prayer and repentance. This isn’t meant to be a comprehensive in-depth study of Isaiah. No, this is just a few pages from my prayer journal as I recently studied Isaiah 1. So, you are invited to come along with me and listen to and consider these ancient words… Rick Gannon
