Stand Firm! Live Free!

February 4, 2024 • Chaplain Matthew Dobyns • Galatians 5:1–11

Paul encourages the Galatians to stand firm in the freedom that they have been given by grace, instead of succumbing again to the previous bondage of religion under the law. Today we address the illogical human tendency to prefer bondage to the awe-inducing experience of Christian freedom.

Boast the Cross!

February 11, 2024 • Pastor Frank Waugh • Galatians 6:11–18

In the conclusion to Galatians, Paul encourages the churches of Galatia to get along for the sake of the gospel and the good of all. The only boasting should be the communal shout of praise that proclaims the gift of grace received by the cross of Jesus Christ.

Let Go of that which Binds!

January 28, 2024 • Pastor Frank Waugh • Galatians 4:1–11

Paul addresses two things enslaving people in the churches of Galatia: 1) worship and dependence on the natural order and 2) worship and dependence of the law of God. Neither idol is enough to deliver true freedom. We are made free as children of the promise, children of the free woman.

Claim It!

January 21, 2024 • Pastor Frank Waugh • Galatians 3:6–14, Galatians 3:23–29

Paul proclaims we are justified by grace through faith. Whoever is baptized into Christ and believes is an heir of the Abrahamic promises of God. God acted and we were saved by mercy and have unity in Christ as a result. We demonstrate our claim to our Abrahamic inheritance every time we trust, believe and live confidently in the spirit of Christian freedom!
