S4E39 "Ex Opere Operator or Operantis"

December 7, 2023 • Ken Fish, Grant Pemberton

This week, Ken and Grant talk about what we think about when ministry leaders MAY have fallen. If someone has been accused with nothing proven or they are guilty dead to rights, we have to inquire of the Lord how we are supposed to respond.

Ex Opere Operato means “From the work performed” or that the sacrament itself, when performed correctly, carries the grace of God. “If it is Peter baptizing, it is Christ who baptizes through him. If Judas baptizes, it is still Christ who baptizes through him.“ - St. Augustine

Ex Opere Operantis means “from the work of the doer.” It is concerned with the moral condition of the minister administering the sacrament.
