Written by Jenn Franklin and Gold Star Mother Nanette West for her son, Kile, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Iraq. Nanette wanted to see where Kile had served so she signed up as a civilian contractor, working in Iraq for two years where she saw and experienced what Kile's life in the military had been like.

WWII Navy Veteran Ernie Vantosky shared his story of being a Petty Officer 1st Class aboard a PBY-5A Catalina, or more commonly referred to as the "Ugly Duckling." While talking with Bob Regan, Ernie said, ""They don’t understand the one-ness of the nation, had it not been for that, we would have never accomplished what we did." Bob turned Ernies story into a wonderful song that embodies the music of the the era and highlights what Operation Song is really all about. Sadly, Ernie passed away in 2019.

Originally from Guyana, Seneca expressed her desire to experience a Freedom from all of the struggles and burdens of her story resonated not only with her but all of the veterans in the program.
The Forgotten Victory

Written by Korean War Veteran Larry Kinard with songwriters Bob Regan and George Teran. Larry expressed his frustration at the Korean War being called The Forgotten War, Larry stated how any given night you can look down from a satellite and see North Korea in the dark, while South Korea shines bright and free! Larry said, "It should be called The Forgotten Victory."
USS Arkansas

The Greatest Generation! Written with WWII veteran Jim Wooters from Columbus, GA at our Operation Song, Warrior Outreach Ranch Retreat in April of 2017. He told his story and showed photos of his service aboard the USS Arkansas to writer Will Nance, who put it all to music. Sadly, Jim passed away in September of 2017.
