Partnership Class is for those who want to make OneLife their home church. During the class, you will learn about OneLife's beginnings, our values, where we're headed, and more. This is also a great chance to talk to some of our leaders and ask any questions you might have. This class will be meeting at the OneLife building on Sunday, November 1 from 5:00-7:30 pm, dinner and childcare will be provided, but we need you to sign up ahead of time to let us know you're coming! What it Means to Partner with OneLife: Partnership is deciding to be “all in” at OneLife. It’s making a commitment to become an active part of the OneLife family, moving from a consumer to a contributor. As part of the family, it means that you join with us to serve together on mission. Partnership is a biblical word. It can also be translated as “fellowship”, “participation” or “communion” in the New Testament. The word expresses the idea of sharing something in common, joining in a mutual mission, and playing a role in this mission. Phil 1:3-5 - I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. Sharing something in common What we think about God is the most important thing about us. We want to be a community that knows God and loves Him. True partnership requires that we have something in common and are on the same page theologically. Joining in a mutual mission As faithful followers of Jesus, we’ve been given something to do. Christianity isn’t just about enjoying other Christians’ company. Our church exists to be a people on mission. Our mission, specifically, is to make much of Jesus in everyday life for the good of the neighborhoods in the Bay Area of Houston and beyond. Playing a role in the mission As we partner together and serve on mission, sacrifice is required. We don’t live just for ourselves. We live to further God’s mission on earth. Each person who partners with OneLife must understand and “own” their role in this mission. Partnership is an informed commitment to the vision, mission, values, doctrine, and philosophy of OneLife Church, a willing submission to the leadership of the church, and an intentional embrace of your unique role in the church family and our mission to reach our city.
