Consistency. Whether it’s in music, or sports, or public speaking, any other realm, consistency is something we strive for. A college football team needs a quarterback who’s consistent. A pitcher in baseball needs to be consistent in throwing. As Christians, God calls us to live lives of consistency and integrity. If we live consistent lives of devotion to God, you will find more and more opportunities in which God will move mightily in your circumstances. Why? Because God takes full responsibility for a life completely devoted to Him.
THE BIG IDEA: When we live lives of consistency, we set the stage for God to move mightily.
Leadership is Temporary
November 12, 2023 • Chris Edmondson • Daniel 4, Daniel 5:17–31, James 4:6
Everyone seems to have an answer about how to improve the country. As the political landscape grows increasingly impassioned during this election season, there is no shortage of opinions as to how the next President should lead. What if you were given the opportunity to be one of the President’s closest advisors? What if you were given the opportunity to influence the perspective of the leadership of a country? An organization? A family? What would you advise?
THE BIG IDEA: Leadership is stewardship. It is temporary. We are accountable.
Standing Out
November 5, 2023 • Chris Edmondson • Daniel 2, Daniel 3
We're looking at one of the most talked about Bible stories. When we tell this story to kids, we don't teach it correctly, and it causes many of us to eventually walk away from faith. It's all about following God and leaving the results up to Him.
THE BIG IDEA: Follow God and leave the results up to Him.
Integrity
October 29, 2023 • Chris Edmondson • Daniel 1:8–21
Every year, the church and the cooperate world gets rocked and reminded that a lack of personal integrity always impacts other people. There's no such thing as, “A person had an integrity issue, and the only person that was hurt was that person.” When a person’s integrity blows up, everyone around them gets shrapnel. We can see that in others, but we just can’t see that in ourselves. We think, “No, this is my deal, my life, my secret, my thing. It's between me and God.” But that’s a lie.
When Culture Shifts
October 22, 2023 • Chris Edmondson • Daniel 1:1–8, John 1:14, John 1:17, John 8:2–11
Over the last couple decades? Hasn’t it felt like our culture has increasingly gotten darker and darker? We get numb to the cycle that we go through: natural disasters, school shootings, lootings and beatings, teachers getting pepper sprayed. We become callous because we've seen it so much. We want to do something, but we don’t know what to do to fix all of these problems. How do you live a godly life when culture shifts?
