Take the Land, Part 1

There are many formative moments in the faith journey. At times, God calls us to be steady and patient, and at others, to take a major life-changing step. After the death of Moses, God appoints Joshua as the new leader of the Israelites and tells him to step in and take hold of the Promised Land. It is a major turning point in Joshua’s journey. It can be a turning point in your story as well.

Remember to Remember

In the fourth chapter of Joshua, God instructs the Israelites to halt on the shores of the Promised Land and take the time to erect a memorial using 12 stones from the Jordan River. By doing this, we learn a valuable lesson: Monuments drive the movement. As a church, we should intentionally take time to remember and celebrate God’s faithfulness. Our past victories are vital for future success, and being used by God is a privilege and honor that we will never take for granted.

Take A Step

We want God to do it all. We want God to do it all so that we won’t have to do nothing. But God will only move in harmony with how we obey. God doesn’t speak until we start moving to obey. God doesn’t show us our next step to take until we step out and obey. We want God to show up and move for us. We want Him to obey for us. But that would alleviate our part in this process, because God only hits a moving target.
