Destinations, Part 1

Think about the last time you were traveling and got lost. You had your destination in mind. You had every intention of getting there. But you took the wrong path, and you didn't end up where you wanted to be. A disconnect often occurs between the path you choose and where you want to end up. The principle of the path says that direction, not our intention, that determines our destination. So is the path you’re on taking you where you want to go?

Baby Steps

He had brains, he had brawn. But he had one weakness and it eventually cost him everything. The mighty Samson was destined to be the next leader of Israel. But as his gaze drifted, so he eventually drifted far away from God. How did this drift happen? Did it happen overnight, or was it a slow erosion? Today, we will discover that most of us don’t take huge leaps away from God and our morals. Most of us take small steps away from our values and our conviction and, over time, we don’t even recognize the person we once were.

One Small Step

Direction determines Destination. But we don't reach our destination overnight. It takes time and consistency. So many times we think we should be leaps and bounds from where we are. But the reality is that following Jesus isn’t about huge leaps, but by walking with Him daily—a walk that involves steps, not leaps. Getting closer to our desired destination is about small steps we make every day—steps of obedience, steps in relationship with Him. Getting closer to Jesus isn’t about huge leaps… but small, consistent steps.
