The falsehood that is spoken about in Ephesians 4:25 is based around the idea that we have to perform some religious activity in order to earn God's favor. For the people at the time, it was concerning the consistent false teaching regarding circumcision. Today, it is the consistent misconception of being a "good" person. Paul teaches us and them that it is not by works of righteousness, but according to His mercy that God saved us. However, when you are welcomed into the family of God, there are some family expectations and family values. Ephesians 4, breaks down just what these values are and as believers, we should want to fulfill these as best as we can.
We Are His

The book of Ephesians gives us an outstanding overview of how God views our relationship with Him. As believers, we are chosen by God's pleasure, saved by His grace, welcomed by His faithfulness, and we are products of power for His glory. We are His family and knowing this should bring us comfort, rest, and peace.
