Light It Up

December 22, 2024 • Genesis 1, John 1:1–14

We're reminded of the profound truth that Jesus is the Light of the world. Drawing parallels between Genesis 1 and John 1, we see how God's creative power through His Word brings light into darkness. Just as God said 'Let there be light' at creation, Jesus came as the Word made flesh to illuminate our spiritual darkness. We're challenged to consider that not all light is the same - there are counterfeit lights that may disguise themselves as truth. As believers, we're called to carefully discern what pleases the Lord and to expose deeds of darkness. The message encourages us to fully embrace Christ's light, allowing it to shine in every area of our lives. It's a call to authenticity, urging us to have 'Christmas lights' both inside and out - a vibrant faith that's evident in our hearts and visible to the world.
