After Jesus was crucified the disciples had a feeling of "Now What" come over them. Where do we go from here? What do we do now? However, Jesus had already prepared the way for them by saying it was a "good thing" for Him to go away because if He didn't then the Holy Spirit could not come.
Essentially, Jesus was saying that He had to go away so that we could then experience the Fullness of the presence of God.
