Pastor Mark & Michelle Geer are on Summer Sabbatical for the months of June, July and August. We are privileged to have a number of guest speakers filling in for them this summer and we warmly welcome them to The Journey.
We are pleased to have as our guest speaker today U.S. Missionary Tia Scharwat. Tia grew up here in Oak Harbor and was a part of The Journey during her high school years. She is a graduate of Oak Harbor High School and Western Washington Universtiy where she served as a U.S. Missionary with Christian Campus Fellowship (CCF), also known as Chai Alpha - an Assemblies of God college campus outreach organization.
Using Matthew 4:18-22 Tia challenges us with some questions to think about in our lives:
1) What does it mean to truly follow Jesus?
2) Do I stay where I am comfortable or do I follow Jesus wherever He leads?
3) How do we follow Jesus well?
Sharing a Jewish blessing, “May you be covered with your Rabbi’s dust,” she challenges us to follow our Teacher, Jesus Christ, so closely that we are covered with the dust He stirs up as He walks.
We pray you will be blessed by today's message and allow it to motivate you as well to be give your life to Christ and be used by Him to impact others for eternity. If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior and you are interested in learning more about becoming a follower of Jesus, please reach out to us through our website "Contact Us" form and we'd be happy to give you some guidance in this area. God bless you!
