The Cross of Jesus | Mark 14:43-15:21
April 2, 2023 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Isaiah 53:4–7, Mark 14:43—15:21, John 19:17–30, 1 Corinthians 1:18, Philippians 2:8
In this message Pastor Ben Dixon teaches on Jesus' final hours and crucifixion. We will see that even though Jesus suffered greatly and was mocked openly, Jesus acted only selflessly and gave himself fully for our redemption. As a result of Jesus' intentional suffering for us we get to receive salvation, cleansing for our sin, and the privilege to commit our future to Jesus' discipleship.

March 12, 2023 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Daniel 12:11, Revelation 6—16, Mark 13:14–32, Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31
When Jesus prophesied what would take place during the Olivet discourse (Mark 13) He was not just listing a number of terrible things that would happen. He was pointing to His glorious return where His Messianic Kingdom would be established and all things would be made right. Through His teaching we should be provoked to a deep longing and expectation for His return.

The Last Days | Mark 13:1-13
March 5, 2023 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 13:1–13
The End Times has been misunderstood and misinterpreted by many. The Jewish people misunderstood the Old Testament prophecies, the direct disciples of Jesus misunderstood His clear teaching and we do the very same thing today. In Mark 13:1-3 Pastor Ben Dixon shows the clear teaching of Jesus and we will walk away with a better understanding of “when” things will happen, “what” we need to know, and “how” we should live in light of what Jesus said.

The Call to Give All | Mark 12:41-44
December 11, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 12:41–44
Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was and He responded by saying, “Love God and love others.” Right after Jesus said these words, He showed His disciples what loving God looked like by highlighting a widow who gave all that she had to God through her temple offering. God doesn’t want us just to give Him a little money, He calls us to give Him our entire life.

December 4, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 12:28–40, 1 John 4:10, 1 John 4:20–21
If you have been a Christian for any length of time there is no doubt that you have asked the question, “What does it really mean to love God?” Loving God is not as mysterious as it may seem. In Mark 12:28-40, Jesus is asked what the greatest commandment is and His answer not only satisfies the question but clarifies what it means to truly love God.

God of the Living | Mark 12:18-27
November 13, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 12:18–27, Deuteronomy 25:5–6
What happens when you die? Christians believe what Jesus taught concerning resurrection and this causes us to live each day with hope for tomorrow. In Mark 12:18-27 we read about when Jesus is challenged with a question by some members of the Sadducees who don’t believe in life after death. This challenge is a perfect opportunity for Jesus to further demonstrate his wisdom and reiterate the teaching and hope of resurrection.

Loyal to One, Responsible to Many | Mark 12:13-17
November 6, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 12:13–17, Proverbs 26:28, Proverbs 29:5, Psalm 146:3, Romans 13:1–7
At this point in the Gospel of Mark, the religious leaders are doing everything they can to discredit and remove Jesus entirely. They approach Him with a number of difficult questions that touch on both political and theological issues. These questions have the potential to divide the crowd and pique the interest of Roman authorities implying that an insurrection is in the making. Jesus sees through their questions and communicates a powerful message that while we are responsible to many in this life, ultimately, we can only be loyal to one.

The Marks of a Religious Spirit | Mark 11:27-33, 12:1-12
October 30, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 11:27–33, Mark 12:1–12, 2 Timothy 3:1–5, Mark 8:15
In Jesus' time, it was the religious leaders' duty to investigate the teachings and practices of other religious teachers. However, the fact that they could not discern Jesus as the true Messiah shows us that there was more going on spiritually than a general dullness of heart. Demonic power is alive and at work not only in the world but also in religious and even Christian circles in order to distort the truth and derail the church from the true mission of Jesus. What we observe in the religious leaders through this text is not far off from what can happen to us if we don’t stay humble before God and His Word.

October 9, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 11:20–26, Hebrews 11:6, Matthew 17:14–21, Matthew 24:1–2, Luke 19:41–44
Prior to our text today, Jesus had cursed a fig tree and the disciples have discovered that it has completely withered up and died. Peter brought attention to the withered fig tree which launches Jesus into a teaching regarding faith, prayer and the inevitable tests that they will all face. We can easily see that this teaching was not only important for them but is entirely meaningful for us today as we seek to follow Jesus with all of our hearts.

Nothing But Leaves | Mark 11:12-21
October 2, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 1:12–21, Matthew 21:14–16
As we have studied the book of Mark, we have seen very clearly that human beings have a tendency to take what God gives and make it something entirely different. There are many reasons for why this happens but the end result is a fruitless and even harmful form of religion that misrepresents God’s heart and misleads many who truly want to know Him. In our passage today we get a clear picture of just how far things can go and what Jesus thinks about it and how He responds to it.

The King That We Need | Mark 11:1-12
September 18, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 11:1–12, Zechariah 9:9, Luke 19:39–44
We know from studying the Gospel of Mark that all of Israel is waiting for their King to come. However, they are mistaken about HOW He will come, which resulted in disbelief, confusion, and misunderstanding Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem in Mark 11:1-12. Jesus was doing exactly what was needed because He was and is the King that we long for.

Healing For Our Blindness | Mark 10:46-52
August 14, 2022 • Pastor Ben Dixon • Mark 10:46–52
The Bible uses blindness as a metaphor for our spiritual condition and at the same time, it proclaims Jesus as the one who opens blind eyes. In this message, Pastor Ben Dixon teaches from Mark 10:46-52 that the truth is that we all are blind to something but the good news is that Jesus can heal any form of blindness as we seek Him wholeheartedly.
