Join Guyton Montgomery as he deals with the importance of the church as seen in the relationship she has with Christ as His bride. Emphasis is placed upon Paul inspired explanation of this relationship found in Ephesians 5:22-33. In these verses, Paul draws a spiritual analogy between the ideal husband-wife marriage relationship and that of Christ and the church.
Guyton also presents several points made within this context dealing with this relationship: 1) the Significance of the church; 2) Christ is the Superintendent or Head of the church; 3) the church is Subject unto Christ; 4) the church is made up of the Saved; 5) the church is made up of the Sanctified; and 6) Christ is the Great Shepherd. Other passages are brought in to emphasize these points and set forth the importance and necessity of the Lord's church.
