Peter was more interested in where Jesus was going and how he could go too. Peter also wanted to follow Jesus to the cross and to heaven but he didn’t realize what he was saying. Only Jesus could die for Peter’s sins. Only Jesus could make a way for sinful man to know a Holy God. Peter didn’t yet understand what Jesus had come to do for him. We love because Jesus first loved us.
