State of the Church 2023: Make Every Effort

January 29, 2023 • Jeff Noble

“Make every effort” was the encouraging theme of this State of the Church message. It is humbling and amazing to survey all that God has done in the life of Northstar Church. Jeff highlights stories and demonstrates the abundant work of God in our midst. He focused the challenge around one Greek word spoudazō that occurs numerous times in the New Testament, meaning “make every effort.” Christians are called to cooperate in their intentional embrace of a daily, intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s how we can “be the church."

State of the Church

February 6, 2022 • Jeff Noble, Matt Simpson • Micah 6:8, Mark 1:35, 1 Kings 8:23

In this State of the Church message, we examine three strategic ways to be the church in 2022. Importance of 1) walk daily, 2) build up, and 3) seek first. The joy of knowing Jesus should inspire and drive us to embracing discipleship and prioritizing our lives around the kingdom of God. Jeff shared his own personal spiritual journey to help explain what it means to have a quiet time.

State of the Church 2021

February 14, 2021 • Jeff Noble

During the State of the Church, Jeff touched on where the church has been over the past year, where we are now, and what this next year will look like. Northstar in the new days of 2021 will have new ways while keeping a faithful gaze on King Jesus.

State of the Church 2020

January 26, 2020 • Jeff Noble

While taking a look back at this past year at Northstar, Jeff examines Galatians 1:10 and the idea of "people pleasing". He notes that since we are created by God to be dependent, we are pleasers by nature; however, we should seek to please God above all things. With that in mind, our "2020 vision" as a church is to grow deeper in spiritual maturity by embracing ministry instead of activity.

This year as a church we are focused on spiritual growth through discipleship. We want each one of our members to be walking with the Lord daily and constantly growing in faith.
