Revelation 2:8-11 - Smyrna, The Certainty of Suffering

Smyrna, The Certainty of Suffering

November 21, 2021 • Jeff Noble • Revelation 2:8–11

In the letter to the church of Smyrna, Jesus encourages the church by assuring them of His knowledge of their affliction, poverty and how others are slandering them. He also seeks to prepare them for future suffering that He tells them is coming. This message is an encouraging and sober reminder for followers of Jesus today to be prepared for hardship and to stand strong in our faith in Christ.

The tree of life and the river of the water of life both are featured, and we invited to be comforted in our future purposeful work and in the loving reign of God for all eternity.
