Life as a believer is full of tension — tension between what we believe and what we do. Sometimes we will pull too hard on the belief side and get too close to hypocrisy… and sometimes we will pull too hard on the behave side and get to close to legalism. There is this point of tension in the middle that Christ wants us to exist.

There are things in life that we need to cut out and there are things that we absolutely cannot. If we are going to be a people who are effective for Chris, we must be a people who know how to abide in Chris. Let us never cut out what connects us to Christ.

We do our best to present the best version of ourselves because we aren't sure people will like the real version. But we aren’t fooling God with our silly attempts to edit our life. God can see through our efforts to present the best version of us. God knows us as we really, truly are and there is nothing you can do to escape His love.
