Sunday Morning Modern Service
November 24, 2024 • JJ Cox • Luke 17:11–19
1. We find SALVATION in our thankfulness.
· 10 men cried out to Jesus, and all 10 were physically healed.
· 1 man, upon realizing that he had been healed, came back to Jesus and fell at His feet and thanked Him.
· Jesus looks around for the other 9 men and they are nowhere to be found.
o Way too many times when people get what they want, they never come back around.
o And that is the highlight of human ingratitude.
o We use resources for our own good and never stop to thank the provider of the resource itself.
· But, Jesus looks at the one that did come back and he says to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
o The words “made well” here is the Greek word “sozo” which means, a spiritual salvation.
o This man found physical healing in his obedience, but he found ultimate healing in his thankfulness.
As we head into this Thanksgiving week and we are preparing for large meals with friends and family, I want to encourage you to be Thankful to the One who provides the resource for all you have.
I want to encourage you to take some time this week and simply write down a list of what you know God has blessed you with, and then take time to fall at His feet and say, “Thank you!”
