Before You Cancel 2020...

A new year gives us a chance to celebrate. It also allows us to look back at 2020, a year unlike any other, and discern what lessons we learned. While the struggles of this unique season may not be over, we can still find a fresh start in the midst of it. We can't reverse all of the difficult things

The Blessing

Maybe our biggest takeaway from 2020 is asking who we can bless and how we can love. Maybe what God has been trying to teach us is that humanity's ugliness will never be redeemed by more cursing, only by more blessing. Blessings don't come through shouts of hatred or blame, but simple acts of love. Everybody needs love, and you never know what a little blessing may do.

When God sees people hiding, he doesn't turn his back; he comes looking for them. It's the reason Jesus came to earth, to connect with us, make us whole, and give us peace with God and peace with others. Scripture says that the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love people. They go hand in hand. We must learn to live in relationships with God and others, to live as a community.

The Test

God hasn't been absent—he's been growing a church that's based not on convenience or consumerism but on real trust that God always keeps his promises. And he's inviting you to trust him in that way in 2021. He's inviting you to not into a year of greater comfort in your circumstances, but a year of greater trust, provision, and joy, regardless of your circumstances. Because in the end, the test isn't about what You can do for Him—it's about what He can do in you.

The Reason Why

We're not in control; God http://is...and that's a good thing! If we look back at the year, we can see and celebrate how God has provided. We can still trust God because even though we didn't see it coming, not even the most major events caught him by surprise. Through it all, he promises to care for us and give us what we truly need.
