Loosening The Grip Of Emotional Chaos

Loneliness

April 7, 2024 • Pastor Mike Towner • Psalm 16, Philippians 4:4, Psalm 37:4, Habakkuk 3:18, Psalm 139:7

Sometimes in life we feel alone, like nobody notices us, and nobody is there for us. The book of Psalms reminds us, we are never alone. God is always present and available, no matter how lonely we feel. The next time you find yourself feeling alone in life, look up and seek the God of the universe who created every living thing!

Fear

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling." - Psalm 46:1-3.

Discontent

April 21, 2024 • Pastor Mike Towner • Psalm 100, Ephesians 2:19, Romans 9:20–22, James 1:17, Romans 8

It's easy to fall into a state of discontent. Comparing our success to others, our blessings to others, and our abilities to others. All good in our lives is an undeserved gift from God. Even when we can't see God working, or feel God working, sometimes the blessing takes the form of a lesson. Have an attitude of gratitude to your Heavenly Father; praise him in all things!

Spiritual Apathy

April 28, 2024 • Pastor Mike Towner • Psalm 145:1–10, Psalm 145:21, Romans 1:20–25

We can all agree, we could use more of Him and less of ourselves. Prioritize time meditating on the awesomeness of God. It's easy to take for granted the goodness of God since He is ever present, all powerful, and all knowing; but if meditate on just how awesome God is we're quickly overcome with zeal for the creator of all! The worship that comes from that zeal is fuel for whatever comes our way.
