Our greatest problem is that we’ve made other things more important than God. We’ve sinned against God by trying to have people and things bring us the fulfillment we can only find in God. Our greatest need is to be reconciled to God. We need to be forgiven and made whole…so that we can find purpose in following Jesus!
The Parable of the Two Sons” offers profound insights challenging us to rethink our understanding of sin, grace, and our relationship with God. By examining the lives of both the younger and elder sons, we gain a deeper appreciation of God’s boundless love and grace.
In the story of the good Samaritan, Jesus answers two questions: 1. Who’s my neighbor? 2. What does it mean to love my neighbor? As we’ll see, our neighbors include those with whom we share ANIMOSITY, HOSTILITY, & DISTRUST. And loving our neighbor means demonstrating MERCY (compassion, contact, and care) to those neighbors!
