1. Do you “hear” the word of the gospel?

2. Will you “accept” the word of the gospel?

3. Will you “follow” and let God produce fruit IN you and THROUGH you?

Jesus explains why you should rejoice and be thankful. He points to himself, and says, “Look. I’m here. Rejoice! Be thankful, God is with you!” That’s the point. Everything is different after Jesus’ resurrection AND ascension to heaven. Because of Jesus, you are changed. God is with you! Rejoice in his new work in you!

Our greatest problem is that we’ve made other things more important than God. We’ve sinned against God by trying to have people and things bring us the fulfillment we can only find in God. Our greatest need is to be reconciled to God. We need to be forgiven and made whole…so that we can find purpose in following Jesus!
