14 Days of Prayer - Day 2

Read the Scriptures below slowly three separate times with single people in mind. On the third time, pay attention to the word or phrase that seems to stand out from the rest and meditate on it. This is God showing you something, so respond to Him by praying what He is bringing to your attention. Pray this for all the single people that you know.

· “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

· “The Lord will fulfill His purposes for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” Psalm 138:8

Isolation/Community - Singles (Sean Kelly)

Ask God today to be present with anyone alone or who has no community. Ask God to give them courage to take the sometimes-awkward step of trying something new: a sports team, gym, church group, or activity so that they can be part of something new. After you pray this, do something to help them in this way like inviting them to your small group, coffee, dinner, movie, or to an event.

Divorced and Widows – That They Don’t Feel Alone (Darren Bowers)

The Bible says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit…” (Psalm 34:18 NIV). Play the song, “I Am Not Alone” by Kari Jobe (linked below). As this song plays, ask God to come close to all those who may be struggling with this feeling of loneliness inside. Spend time with someone that you know is experiencing or has experienced divorce or death of spouse…bring the comfort of Jesus to them.
