What Will It Take To Restore Our Society

Matthew 10:1-18

As Coretta Scott King once said, “Struggle is a never-ending process. Freedom is never really won. You earn it and win it in every generation.” The restoration Christ seeks is not just individualistic. It’s wholistic. It is not merely about the redemption of souls destined for heaven, but it is also about the structures and the society in which those souls live. We are called to be the hands and feet of God, all endeavoring to further the work of God. That means we are to bring restoration to our society, our neighborhoods, our communities, and our world. The work of making the world a better place was on the mind of Jesus when He sent His disciples out to teach and preach in Matthew 10. The fulfillment and realization of God’s will come when those who regard themselves as His disciples go out to make a difference in the world – to help reconcile and restore a broken world and bring it back into a relationship with a good, great, and merciful God.
