Newstart Kids Verse Challenge

April 7, 2020 • Desiree Caluza

Hey, Newstart kids and parents! I can't believe it's been 4 weeks since we've last been at church together. During our time apart your family has been prayed for by our children's ministry leadership team. Starting this week, a weekly memory verse challenge will be posted for all Newstart kids to participate in. Each week a children's ministry leader will present a new verse for your kids to memorize creatively and interactively. Your kids will have until Sunday evening each week to get this challenge completed. Here are three suggestions of how your kids can memorize the weekly verse. 1. Draw a picture 2. Create a dance 3. Make-up hand motions Take a picture or record a video of your child's final piece and text it to me at 614-460-0521 or send me an email to desireec@newstart4u.org. This weekly memory verse challenged isn't only about memorizing God's Word, but it's also about putting these scripture passages into practice. As a family, take some time throughout your week to: * Talk about each specific verse and how it applies to your life. * Write out the verse on paper and hang it up in various rooms throughout your home so it can be seen regularly. * Share each weekly verse with a friend, neighbor or family member through a FaceTime call, text message, etc. Parents, you have been given the awesome opportunity to practice being your child's spiritual leader and disciple-maker. Take advantage of our current circumstances of social distancing and mindfully connect with your kids in ways that will help feed them and grow them spiritually. These weekly memory verse challenges are one way to connect with your kids about their faith. Have fun with this! Desiree
