NCCpm - Nehemiah Week 5

NCCPM Online 5.12.24

May 12, 2024 • Pastor Cedric Hill • Nehemiah 13:6–11

Nehemiah 13:6-11

-Integrity is measured when the feeling of God's presence is gone. What is your true character? What are your true colors? When you don't feel like following God what shows up in your life in those moments?

-Be aware of the agreements you are making with the enemy. Sometimes, we unknowingly let the enemy into our homes by way of what we do, watch, think, or feel. Take every thought captive and submit them to God.

-Master your choices or your choices will master you. In Genesis 4:7 You will be accepted if you do what is right but if you refuse to do what is right then watch out, sin is crouching at your door eager to control you but you must subdue it and become its master.

Nehemiah 13:4-14 Spiritual reform or sanctification is a daily process and a lifelong journey of growth and maturation in faith.   •The enemy doesn’t stop working, he comes to steal, kill, and destroy so stay alert. •Connect with those who are connected to God, because the company you keep will greatly influence you one way, or another. •Pray the prayer “Remember me.” The request to be remembered by God is an acknowledgment of dependence on God's grace, mercy, and faithfulness. It's a plea for His divine assistance, protection, or provision, often made in humility and trust. APPLICATION: This week let's make a plan to step towards sanctification. Start by prioritizing some time to get into God's word.

NCCpm - Nehemiah Week 4

May 5, 2024 • Pastor Cedric Hill • Nehemiah 8:1–6, Nehemiah 9:1–3, Matthew 5:6–7

Nehemiah 8  -Hunger for Jesus precedes revival  -What are you satisfying your hunger with?  -Blessed are those who hunger for righteousness  -Hunger for Jesus is what will bring victory  -Our outer posture should be reflective of what God is doing on the inside … rags and dust on the heads is a symbol of mourning  -Revival happens in you before it happens around you  -What would it look like to worship God with our body?  -Practicing the presentation of our body trains us to be oriented around the throne of grace  Without confession and repentance, our hunger for sin will grow rather than our hunger for God  -Repentance is just choosing which way to turn, and keeps us from drifting - if we don’t make that choice then the choice will be made for us through the default setting of the fall of man  As repentance grows, faith grows  -An appetite for God is the result of the immersion in the story of God

NCC - Nehemiah Week 5

May 5, 2024 • Pastor Jimmy Ellison • Nehemiah 8:9–12

📖Read Nehemiah 8:9-12 Discovering our stories in God’s story revives our souls. •Dive deep into God’s story: If you don’t have a systematic plan of reading and studying God’s word - you may not be living up to your full potential as a follower of Jesus.  •Posture yourself to hear and respond to God’s story: Without confession and repentance our hunger for sin will grow rather than our hunger for God  •Because of God's story, today is a new day. You cannot change the past, but in Christ, we have a new life. His grace and mercy are new every day!
