Jubilee — Year of Release

•The Spirit of God anointed the Messiah to fulfill the ultimate Jubilee.

•The Messiah will bring new creation.

•The Messiah will anoint his followers to rebuild a world broken by sin.

•The Messiah’s anointed ones are to be set apart.

•New creation will be like a wedding feast and a return to the garden.

God has brought the long-awaited Jubilee in Jesus!

Isaiah 52:13-15 and Isaiah 53:1-12 God’s audacious love bails us out of our spiritual debt. God’s grace in and through Jesus should leave us speechless. Jesus was set apart by his love, not his appearance. When we turn to our own way, Someone must pay. The One without sin was God’s perfect sacrificial lamb. Jesus’ suffering and resurrection fulfilled God’s plan to redeem the world.

God’s grace doesn’t abandon nor forget. God’s grace is beyond explanation. God’s grace is permanent. God’s grace gives hope. If someone feels in his heart the situation is hopeless, I say you are looking at the ruins of life, while God looks at the walls. You look at what you have been, and you are conscious of awful failure, but bless the Lord, He sees you in Christ, as what he intends you to be. He sees you to be what you long to be in your best moments. He sees you as what you will be when the grace of God has finished the task. –Alan Redpath
