Melchizedek’s role as a foreshadow of Christ is examined more thoroughly in Jesus’ role as an eternal high priest. No one could ever be saved by the law or the Levitical priesthood, but Jesus fulfilled every bit of it, attaining salvation for all God’s children. By faith, we stand in God’s promise.
