When Jesus proclaims himself as the "Light of the World," it's not just a metaphorical statement; it's a powerful declaration of his ability to illuminate our lives, guide us through darkness, and reveal the truth, much like the physical phenomenon of light dispels shadows and reveals the world around us; this concept, when examined alongside scientific understanding of light, provides a striking illustration of the divine nature of Christ and the transformative power of his grace, particularly as seen in the Gospel of John's story of forgiveness and redemption.

The Gospel of John is the clearest book in the New Testament on how to receive a forever relationship with God (John 3:16; John 20:31). Throughout the gospel comes 7 “I AM” statements that express who Jesus is and how Jesus relates to humanity. When Jesus makes these 7 statements about himself, he is connecting an Old Testament story from Exodus 3 about how God gives Moses his proper name “Yahweh” or “I Am”.
