Sermon Title: “The Eager God” (Pastor Bob)
Sermon Text: Isaiah 65:1-25
Summary:
We underestimate the eagerness of God to save sinners. God holds out his hands all day long to a rebellious people. He is ready to be sought by those who did not ask for Him. He is ready to be found by those who did not seek Him. People are not just victims of bad luck. They are souls in need of a massive intervention. It is like the words of that old hymn: “I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew, He moved my soul to seek him, seeking me; It was not I that found, O Savior true; no, I was found of thee.” God puts His eagerness to save us this way so we might stand on a New Heaven and a New Earth: Isaah 65:24-25 says: “Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, says the LORD.”
