Rahab and the Spies

"Hebrews 11:31 “It was by faith that Rahab was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God.”

Sometimes God uses people that might surprise you!
1. What’s your favorite part of the video? What’s one thing you learned from it?

5. Read Isaiah 55:7. What should we turn away from in our lives? What does it mean that God will have mercy on us?

Instructions:
● Before playing, tape a line on the floor and tape a point value on each bucket and then arrange the buckets in front of the line however you like (smaller points closer to the line and higher further from the line.)
●Play parents against your kids! Give each team a bean bag.
● If they miss the bucket, they’ll get 1 point. Then ask a question from below. If correct they get the points they earned from their throw. Then let the other team go. Continue playing until all the questions have been asked.

Gideon Gets It

Who was Gideon and why was he confused that God had chosen him? 4. What did God do to Gideon’s army? What happened in the battle with the Midianites? 5. Read John 16:33. Why will we have troubles in this life? Why don’t we need to be afraid? 6. How will you apply this lesson to your life this week?

Deborah gets the Credit

Judges 5:2 “Israel’s leaders took charge, and the people gladly followed. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous 1. What’s your favorite part of the video? What’s one thing you learned from it? 2. Who is the strongest and bravest woman you know? Explain. 3. Who was Deborah and what was her job? 4. Who did Deborah get credit for defeating? 5. Read 1 Timothy 4:12. God can use anyone He wants in powerful ways. What does this verse say about young people like you? How can you be a good representative of God in your life? 6. How will you apply this lesson to your life this week?" Instructions: ● Hand out a half piece of construction paper and a Deborah template. ● Have the kids color Deborah and the palm tree. Have them cut out each item. Then have them glue all the items onto their construction paper in the following order: ● Deborah: Prophet and Judge at the top ● Palm Tree in the middle and Deborah sitting under the tree ● Big Idea and memory verse at the bottom of the paper. ● As they work, read part of Deborah’s story from Judges 4:1-9. Remind the kids that God chose Deborah to lead the people to victory even though women weren’t seen as leaders back then. God wants to use young people, too! Supplies needed: Construction paper (cut into 1/2 sheets, 1 per kid), Deborah template, Scissors, Crayons, Glue
