As we interpret the Bible, we are attempting to answer the question, "What does this mean?" We need a process to understand both the easy and the difficult passage of Scripture. The interpretive journey is a process designed to help us think through passages of Scripture by asking 1) what did it mean to the original audience? 2) what differences exist between us and the original audience? 3) what is the theological main point of the passage? 4) what does the rest of the Bible have to say? and 5) what should individual believers do in obedience to this passage today?
