What would it look like if we were given a training manual for followers of Jesus? Maybe it would teach us how to grow in our faith, how to help others grow in theirs, and how to relate well with others. The good news is we do – it’s called the Bible and it’s God’s instruction manual for all of us.

There’s a cliché that has been around for a while that says, “Love is a verb”. Sometimes clichés pass the test of time because they involve some truth. Our faith requires us to take action, as well, as we learn to follow Jesus better.

There is a popular fast-food chain whose staff consistently says, “My pleasure”. This goes beyond good manners and professionalism. There is an intentionality in the way they interact with people because they are taught the value of positivity. Taking pride in carrying out assigned responsibilities is refreshing and inspiring. This should be the mindset of all who follow Jesus. Having been rescued from our old life, we now have the tremendous privilege of being God’s partners in showing and telling others the great news we’ve discovered. In this two-week series, we’ll look at the opportunities we’re given to make a real difference in the world around us and be reminded that we don’t just have to – we get to!
