The Best Christmas Ever

The Best Christmas Ever - Love

December 25, 2022 • Bob North, Lead Pastor • John 3:16–17

During the Christmas season each year people seem to be just a little bit more loving. They are more patient toward one another. They are generous toward one another. They are more caring toward one another. The reason this time of year brings this out in us is, underneath it all, Christmas is about love. It is about true agape love that is displayed in the sacrifice God made by sending his only son to earth to rescue us from our fallen state. This Christmas could be the best Christmas ever if we could just recognize the greatest gift ever given in love in the coming of Jesus Christ.

The Best Christmas Ever - Joy

December 18, 2022 • Dan Chavez, NC Youth Pastor • Luke 2:9–22

Christmas is a season of joy, however, most would gauge this joyfulness on circumstantial things. How was the visit with the in-laws? How was the food? How many gifts did I get? Did I get all that I wanted? The problem is when our joy is based on circumstances, it isn't joy at all, it is temporary happiness. To experience the best Christmas ever is to experience joy that transcends the holiday hype. Christmas is, as it was intended, an announcement about the arrival of the Savior who would rescue us from our sin and give us real life. This announcement is the very reason why we can experience joy this Christmas that is not based on circumstances, but based on Jesus' presence in our lives.

The Best Christmas Ever - Peace

December 11, 2022 • Bob North, Lead Pastor • Philippians 4:4–7, Ephesians 2:8, Isaiah 9:6, John 16:33

Peace is not the absence of conflict as much as it is the presence of God. In the season of Christmas, we celebrate the incarnation. We celebrate Emmanuel which means God with us. This Christmas can be the best Christmas ever because you can discover that right in the midst of your conflict there can be peace as you come to realize that God is right there with you. When Jesus came on that first Christmas he came to a dirty and broken world, but to that dirty and broken world he offered himself. Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus brings peace.
