David ruled as king of Israel for forty years. In his last days he prepared to hand over the kingdom to his son Solomon, but when David was named successor to the throne of Israel he had to live through the scorn of Israel’s first king Saul. In week one, we will begin our journey by comparing and contrasting David’s conclusion as king with David’s calling as king and how David rose to power while being punished by his predecessor.

Road To Recovery

David had a life of communion with God and covenant with community. While David made a life full of mistakes, these two things probably reduced a significant amount of regret. We are all going to make life altering decisions. Some good. Many will be not so good. What matters the most is having the courage to recover.
