The church has a natural slide into religion and behavior modification, thus making people who struggle in doing the right thing tend to stop attending church because they’re ashamed. And the natural response to shame is to hide, from God and others. We have permission to not be perfect, and know that Jesus has fulfilled the demands of trying to be good.
