After Jesus’ resurrection, He explained that He would soon be going back to heaven to live with His Father. But before He left, He had some very good news.

Jesus told them that, “The good news is that because I have come back to life, you can too. After you die, you can live forever with My Father and Me. God loves you so much, He wants this for you. God wants you to believe in Him and Me. God wants to forgive your sins. God wants you to live in perfect harmony with Him forever” (see John 3:16). Jesus explained to His family and disciples that because they loved and believed in Him, after their life on earth ended, they could have this opportunity to live in oneness with God.

In this perfect and eternal fellowship with God, everyone is happy and healthy. Everyone has new bodies that live forever, and there is no more death or sadness or crying or pain.

That’s why the resurrection is important, Jesus conquered death. His victory gives you and me the opportunity to live with God forever and ever!
