Luke 1:30-33,  Matthew 3:1-3 1. Jesus began his ministry by establishing the kingdom of God.      Mark 1:14-15,  Colossians 1:12-13 2. Jesus opened the way for us to reach the throne.      Hebrews 4:16,  Romans 13:1-2,  Proverbs 23:26 3. We need Jesus to establish His throne in our hearts so that He      governs our lives. 4. Do not seek to fill yourself with material things; fill your heart      with spiritual and eternal things.     Matthew 6:25, 33,  Colossians 3:1-2

The Kingdom of God: The People God’s people are His treasured possessions. Deuteronomy 7:6, Psalms 139:17-18, Zephaniah 3:17, 1 Peter 2:1-10 God’s people are whoever believes in Jesus.  John 3:16 God’s people should act differently than unbelievers. God’s people are “temples of the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 God’s people are an unshakable kingdom. Hebrews 12:18-29

Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Revelation 19:16, Deuteronomy 10:17, Daniel 2:47 There is a difference between earthly, carnal kings and Jesus.  1 Samuel 8:6-19 Carnal kings expect to be served by their subjects.  Jesus came to serve His subjects  by dying for them. Luke 22:24-30 King Jesus redeems, restores, and releases captives from worldly kings and kingdoms. Know what your King requires. Deuteronomy 10:12-13, Micah 6:8, John 14:23-24 Submit to the irresistible King Jesus.  Proverbs 20:8, Romans 11:22-23

The Kingdom of God: Good News Mark 1:14b-15 Jesus’ gospel message centered on the arrival of God’s kingdom in Him.  Luke 4:43 The Kingdom of God is the entire story of the Bible culminating in Jesus as king. KING We cannot have Jesus as our savior without first having him as our king.  Matt  8:5-10; 2 Tim 2:8 RULE The rule of King Jesus redeems, restores, and releases captives of the World.  Luke 4:16-21; Matt 12:28-29; 1 John 3:8b PEOPLE Churches are to be colonies of heaven on earth living out the will of the king.  Phil 3:20-21; Rev 5:10 WAY The way of the kingdom reflects the character, attitude, and deeds of the king.  John 18:36-38 LAND The kingdom exists wherever the kingdom people reside.   What steps will we take to cultivate the Kingdom of heaven on earth?  Matt. 13:31-33
