I was on the phone one day while driving. I was pulled over and the police officer asked me for my license and registration and told me that he pulled me over because I was on the phone. I said to him, "I am the Assistant to Pastor Carter and I was on the phone with him, I apologize." He responded, "Pastor Carter of Mount Ararat Church?" I said, "Yes sir." He said, "Get off the phone, tell Pastor I said hello and have a nice day."
Never in my life did I think that being connected to a church could get you out of a ticket. What that showed me was that I am connected to a church that is respected in our community. I was always proud of our church, but that day made me even more proud. I have shared this story many times and I am happy to share it again. My family and I have sinced moved from Brooklyn, but the impact that this congregation has had on my life will always remain etched in our hearts.
