The Chronicler reminds the remnant of their connection to the promises of God, despite exile, by presenting the Davidic Dynasty as a beacon of hope and the construction of the House of Yahweh in order to bring about hope in God's faithfulness to fulfill the Davidic promises.

Ezra-Nehemiah: (Re)Turn and (Re)Build

Melody of Ezra-Nehemiah: Ezra-Nehemiah records the returns of faithful exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem and their work of rebuilding the Temple and the Wall that the nation of Judah might be reborn in obedient temple worship in anticipation of the fulfillment promises. Big Idea (Sermon in a Sentence): The priority of the local church is to increase the worship of Yahweh in the person and work of Christ.
