Psalm 22 prt 2
December 4, 2024 • Pastor Manning • Psalm 22
David expresses his deep distress in this psalm, feeling as if he is a man in despair. However, after recounting the severe calamities that have afflicted him, he rises from the depths of temptation and finds courage, comforting himself with the assurance of deliverance. At the same time, he serves as a type of Christ, who he knew, by the Spirit of prophecy, would undergo remarkable and unusual trials before being exalted by the Father. Thus, the psalm is divided into two parts, reflecting the prophecy of Isaiah (53:8): “He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation?”
