Eight months ago, Cale got rescued from the hospital after an overdose that destroyed the life he'd rebuilt in a week-long relapse. Broken and hopeless, he reached out for help and ended up at the doors of The Bridges of Hope. An Alumni happened to be there visiting and celebrating his one-year sobriety date. He asked if Cale needed cigarettes, and Cale hesitantly said yes. He gave him a pack of cigarettes and left money in the office to get whatever else was needed. This seemingly small gesture meant the world to Cale when he could not trust anyone and was internally shattered.
