Rhythm Four: STUDY

Allowing the Bible to permeate us and shape our minds, emotions, and lives.

Eating With Zacchaeus

March 24, 2024

What kid out there didn't fall in love with Zacchaeus? He was short like a kid, he climbed trees and Jesus looked up, caught him, and went over to this house. I have always loved this story. This glimpse into a light-hearted interaction with Jesus. No one to heal, rescue, raise from the dead, confront, or disciple. A vertically challenged wealthy man wants to see Jesus and with no expectation of interaction makes an effort by climbing a tree to get a good look. Not only does he see Jesus, but Jesus also sees him and invites himself to his house for dinner. What a quirky story that only Luke tells.

Naaman: Sometimes We Need Relief

April 14, 2024 • 2 Kings 5

continue our study of the characters of the Old  Testament. We are taking a look at the story of Naaman from 2 Kings 5. Naaman commanded the army of Aram (one of Israel's enemies). This mighty warrior had a problem; he had leprosy and sought relief. As we consider this story together, what do we learn about the nature of God? What can we carry into our lives from this account?

The Exodus Storyboard

April 7, 2024

Remember not too long ago I took you on a whirlwind tour through the OT from Genesis to Malachi in a blurred frenzy of drawing? Well, we are going to do it again but not so much frenzy and much more deliberate.  We will overview the Exodus-themed part of the OT and dive a bit deeper into the second era of the Israelites, the years of exile.

Bring Your Reading Glasses

Even if we could read it, would it matter?

Let's Storyboard

January 14, 2024

This week we set out to draw a visual storyboard to help us remember where the books of the Bible fit and where the stories come from. Camille will also help us figure out the Why...Why are these stories important? What does it tell us about God that we need to remember as we dive into the Study rhythm?

Tamar

January 28, 2024 • Genesis 38

This week we will dive into the specific story of Tamar. It’s a weird story, full of double standards, broken promises, deceit, and redemption.

Our Rhythm Of Study

January 14, 2024

Why would someone want to engage with the Bible? The answer to this question will depend on who is answering it! Our stories and life experiences related to the faith and scriptures, obviously inform how we feel about the Bible.
