Elijah went from rain clouds of seeing God deliver to the dark clouds of feeling alone and discouraged. Even one of God's main prophets felt depressed even when things were going well. Life doesn't have to be terrible for us to feel alone and forgotten. What God prescribed for Elijah may be just what we need when depression and despair become a reality for us.
Pray for Reign

What is possible if we truly believe in God's power and goodness? God used Elijah to turn people's hearts back to him, but James says he was just an ordinary person like you and me. We don't have to be extraordinary to see God do great things today. We only have to be faithful.
Pick a Side

We can claim to follow God, but our lives can become attached to false gods that promise big, but can't provide. God sent His Son to die for us on a cross so we could see how much He loves us and that false gods are just that—false. More than anything God wants our hearts. Sooner or later we have to quit wavering and pick a side.
Drought and Doubt

Sometimes it seems like the circumstances in life are stacking up against us. Maybe what we have depended on is suddenly gone. We can experience both drought and doubt, but still not be down and out. During those times we can know God is doing something in us, so He can do something through us later.
