The Good Samaritan

July 10, 2022 • Shawn Sendler • Luke 10:25–37

In Luke 10:25-37, an expert in the Old Testament came to Jesus with questions about eternal life. Although this man knew how to recite the Great Commandment from the Scriptures, his focus wasn't on God and His Kingdom. He wanted Jesus' influence to decrease, so that the religious leaders and the Pharisees’ influence could increase.

In their dialogue, Jesus shared one of the most memorable parables ever told: The Parable of the Good Samaritan. It’s our example as to how to live once we have found eternal life in the Almighty. Jesus calls us to care for others sacrificially, even if they are different from us. His message is for serving not to be something we do occasionally, but something that is a part of our everyday life.
