The Handwriting on the Wall

This week we look at Daniel 5 and the story of the last days of the Babylonian Empire. Daniel is called upon to interpret a supernatural, other worldly writing that suddenly appeared on a wall while the king was throwing a huge drunken party. From this chapter comes the phrase, "the handwriting is on the wall."

Daniel's interpretation of the handwriting has application for us today. All nations come and go under God's complete sovereignty. He controls everything. That includes Babylon. That includes what is happening in the world today. That includes our nation as well.
