Stand: The Sword of the Spirit

This week, while looking at the armor of God, we will talk about taking up the sword of the Spirit which is God's Word.

We will examine the importance of knowing what the powers and principalities of the evil one are trying to do to us individually, our families and our nation. We will look at the importance of God's Word in fighting the schemes of the enemy. It is the only offensive weapon in God's full armor that we are to take up.

Stand: The Weapon of Prayer

This Sunday we will complete our study of the full armor of God. It ends with the weapon of prayer (Ephesians 6:18-20). Prayer empowers all the other pieces of the armor. But in these last few verses, we will look at aspects of prayer that need to be exercised if we want complete victory over the enemy.

Stand: The Helmet of Salvation

This week, we take up the helmet of salvation. The battlefield against the enemy is our mind. Our thought life. How we think. We will look thoroughly in the Scriptures about this idea. If you control your thoughts, you will control how you feel. If you control how you feel, you will control your behavior.

Stand: The Shield of Faith

This week we continue our study of the armor of God with the shield of faith. It is a full body-length shield that protects against the evil one’s now pernicious schemes and wiles. Note that faith is the key. We will spend some time looking at the power of memory and how to remember certain aspects of faith that will help extinguish his fiery darts.
