Bringing Back Alive

Decisions or Disciples

October 22, 2023 • Pastor Scott Kilpatrick • Matthew 28:19–20

Life as a Christian begins with a simple, straightforward decision. But it doesn’t stop there. Almost immediately, the decision to accept Jesus blossoms into a life of actively and intentionally following Him. We call this ‘discipleship,’ and it’s an adventure! But what all is entailed in being a disciple? How do we learn how to do it? And how are we supposed to ‘make disciples’ when we’re just learning to be disciples ourselves?

Harvest Time

October 15, 2023 • Pastor Mike Maiolo • Mark 4:26–29, Matthew 9:37–38, 1 Corinthians 3:6–9

The task can seem so large, and because of that, we may back up from stepping into God’s blessing of reaching one person’s soul. Fact: A life without Jesus is a dead life, but a life with Jesus becomes new life. So, how involved will we be in the mission of God?

Go Where the People Are

October 8, 2023 • Pastor Mike Maiolo • Acts 17:22–31, 1 Corinthians 9:20–23, Luke 5:32, Mark 5:1–20

So, where are they? They are on the soccer fields, baseball diamonds, in bookstores, classrooms, business appointments, neighborhoods, grocery stores, and banks. Who are we talking about? Lost people without God in their lives. So, how do we reach them? We must...

Fears and Insecurities

October 1, 2023 • Pastor Mike Maiolo • Exodus 14:13–14, Proverbs 29:25, 1 John 4:18, Galatians 6:14

Most of us who have put our faith in Christ have had, at one time or another, fears or insecurities about sharing our faith with others. God gave us a command, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them all I have commanded.” If we look at this command from God’s viewpoint, He loves everyone and sent Jesus to save us all, so it has been said that sharing our faith story is like “one beggar telling another beggar where to get bread.”

The Power of the Spirit

September 24, 2023 • Pastor Mike Maiolo • Ephesians 5:18, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:11, John 4:1–26, 1 Thessalonians 1:5

Sharing our faith in Christ with someone can be one of the most exciting things about following the Lord. Often, we may not share with someone because we may feel inadequate, believing we have to have all the right answers. God’s word tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:4, “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.” God makes the change in someone’s heart; we just have to be available.

A Volunteer Movement - Who me?

September 17, 2023 • Pastor Mike Maiolo • Matthew 28:18–20, Mark 9:23, Luke 5:10, Acts 17:26–27, Acts 2:17–21

If the idea of sharing your faith or witnessing for Christ seems uncomfortable, this six-week sermon series is for you. Jesus came to earth to save all of humanity. God loves and cares for everyone, and He wants all to come to know the truth (John 13:34). The most exciting aspect of all of this is that God uses ordinary people like you and me. We will together learn how to share the greatest message known to everyone!
