A church’s ministry occurs in wakeful, thankful prayer first before it happens in the pulpit or on the street.

Bring Church Home

July 30, 2023 • John Loughlin • Colossians 3:18—4:1

Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart. Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but with integrity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Serve the Lord Christ. For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality. Masters, show to your slaves what is right and fair, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.

How Is Your Love?

April 30, 2023 • John Loughlin • Colossians 3:14–17

The love we are to “put on” is nurtured by the peace of Christ and is informed by the word of Christ.

February 21, 2021 • John Loughlin • Colossians 1:9–14

Believers walk in a manner that is worthy of the Lord.

Walking Worthy Looks Like...

January 31, 2021 • John Loughlin • Colossians 1:9–14

God longs to fill us with the knowledge of his will so that we might walk worthy of him, being fully pleasing to him. Walking worthy means bearing fruit in good works, increasing in knowledge, being empowered by God for perseverance, and joyously giving thanks to him. We walk worthy because God has given us an inheritance in Christ that cannot be taken away!
